My First Gateau with Ganache

Horaayy..akhirnya bikin kue pake topping Ganache! hehe..sounds very easy ya..but to me it's my first time ever making it..Gateau and Ganache! Apa sih ganache? Biasanya kalau lagi baca-baca blog suka banyak yang bilang "kue tart-nya coklat dalamnya lapis Ganache.." atau "kuenya terakhir di topping Ganache".. cukup ngiter-ngiter juga cari tahu gimana bikinnya. Ketemu ada di blog NCC dengan berbagai versi.. tapi belum kesampean nyobain.

Akhirnya udah tlanjur beli buku "Cake Decorating" dari minggu-minggu lalu, this weekend pengen nyobain bikin African Gateau (resepnya dari blog Mbak Riana) lalu toping dengan Ganache. Di buku itu teryata resep Ganache itu simple banget bikinnya. Saya post disini ya.

GANACHE:
  • 225g dark, milk or white chocolate, broken into pieces (sy pakai dark chocolate)
  • 120 ml whipping cream (kmarin nyobain elle & vire, soalnya baker's mix dimana2 lagi abis!)
  • 50 g unsalted butter, softened (butternya saya beli di TBK, bisa merk apa aja sih)
  1. Put the chocolate in a bowl. Heat the cream in a small saucepan until it is almost boiling.
  2. Pour the hot cream into the chocolate, stirring until the chocolate has melted and blended with the cream.
  3. While still warm, work in the butter which should be almost runny but not translucent.
COATING WITH GANACHE:
Allow ganache to cool and thicken slightly. Pour it all over the top of the cake in one firm swift movement. Spread the ganache gently for an even covering, or if it is still very runny, tap the cake board gently on the surface so the coating runs evenly. Leave to cool and set.

Ganace yang saya bikin belum halus banget sih, dikarenakan butternya ga saya softened dulu, main langsung cemplung ke coklat yang udah melted..hehe makanya resep harus di baca seksama dulu zyaaa!!! :P

Setelah kue di belah dua, dan diisi dengan si orange vanilla custard, lalu di siram dengan Ganache. Atasnya di hias dengan sisa jeruk kalengan (gak sengaja kok bentuknya jadi kayak bunga?) dan sisa ganache di spuit ke sekitar bagian bawah kue.


Selanjutnya di masukkan ke lemari es deh. Nanti kalau pas mau di makan sore-sore di keluarkan, sambil ditemani secangkir teh hangat (seperti anjuran di resepnya hehe)..


As for me, I like to enjoy it with chill frappuccino from starbucks...hmmm..
